WGC is the market development organisation for the gold industry and the global authoritative voice for gold. The media spends for the business in India is estimated to be in the vicinity of Rs 30-35 crore.

It is not clear whether the development was preceded by an official pitch process but WGC officials are said to have spoken to multiple agencies before assigning the mandate to Maxus India.

Even though WGC and Maxus officials did not offer any comments on the story, sources close to the development informed that Maxus has already begun work on the business.
