VIP Industries Ltd moves media mandate to Lodestar UM

Close on the heels of wins including Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) who own and manage Formula 1 (F1) track in its Delhi office and Muthoot FinCorp in its Bangalore office, Lodestar UM’s Mumbai office has bagged the media mandate of VIP Industries Ltd.

The development comes in the wake of a multiagency pitch. The incumbent on the business is Maxus India. Ogilvy India is the creative AOR for the luggage brand.

The account size is pegged in the vicinity of Rs 45-50 crore.

Neither the advertiser nor the agency was available for comments, but industry sources informed exchange4media that Lodestar UM has already begun work on the business.

According to its company website, VIP Industries Limited is the flagship company of the Dilip G Piramal Group. Established in 1971, VIP is today the largest luggage brand in Asia and the second largest manufacturer of moulded luggage in the world.

The website also stated that in the organised Indian luggage market, VIP leads all other brands with a dominant 60 per cent market share with its products reaching over 8000 retail outlets across the country and over 1300 outlets spread across five continents in 27 countries.

VIP’s product offerings includes a variety of hard and soft luggage – strolleys, suitcases, duffle bags, overnight travel solutions, executive cases, backpacks, and even travel accessories.

The group released the Little Hearts online-only campaign, #BreakSomeHearts, early this year and is on the path to make many more of its brands available on the digital platform
