Triton Communications bags Meco Motorsports

Triton Communications has won the account of Chennai-based Meco Motorsports, following a proactive pitch. The account will be handled by Triton’s Bangalore branch.

Triton’s Bangalore unit will henceforth be handling all of Meco Motorsports’ businesses – Meco Racing, MMS Racing Academy, MMS Karting Academy, MMS Products and Accessories, and Meco Recreational Karting Centres across India. Both creative and media duties will come under Triton’s purview.

Confirming Triton’s appointment, Akbar Ebrahim, President, Meco Motorsports said, “Meco Motorsports is not just a company; it’s an aggregator of India’s collective motorsport aspirations. With the Buddh International Circuit becoming operational, motorsports is gaining more popularity than ever before which is why we feel the need to reach out and communicate with a wider audience. That’s where Triton comes into the picture. I anticipate an exciting association with the team.”

Renton D’Sousa, CEO, Triton Communications said, “Triton Bangalore is one of our branches that is all set to go places, with its dynamic, hungry bunch of youngsters. I’m positive that we will see outstanding business ideas, solid creative work and consequently more achievement out of Bangalore this year too.”

Meco is the brainchild of and spearheaded by former racing legend Akbar Ebrahim, who was the first Indian to professionally race outside India, competing in the Formula Asian championship in 1991, the British F3 championship in 1995 and the British F2 championship in 1996. Under his mentorship, Meco has developed into the one-stop shop for everything connected with motorsports, and aims to change the landscape of motorsports in India.

On the addition to their brand portfolio, Triton Bangalore’s Branch Director Sujith Aradhya said, “Motorsports is today drawing more interest than it was say five years ago. And being passionate about motorsports myself as well as having had experience in the automobile industry, we at Triton Bangalore were able to translate this passion and experience into a proactive pitch that won us the account. We really look forward to putting the pedal to the metal on this account.”

Silk Mark Organisation of India, BSNL, Forbes Pro, Adani Wilmar, Yes Bank and some brands of the UB Group are among Triton Communications’ clients.
