TAG, a McCann Worldwide agency, has won the ESPN Champions League T20 account. Senior sources in the industry have said that TAG Delhi beat Lowe Lintas, JWT, Wieden + Kennedy and Grey Worldwide to bag the creative account of the elite event after a five-way pitch. Though the account size could not be ascertained, it is believed to be sizable.
The pitch had taken place in the last week of May. The brief given to the agencies taking part was to keep consumer interest alive in cricket matches, especially soon after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League and Twenty20 World Cup tournaments.
The campaign will be a 360 degree initiative involving print, TV, radio, OOH and BTL activities.
The Champions League Twenty20 is an international cricket tournament involving teams from India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and West Indies. The competition was launched in 2008 as a response to the success of the Twenty20 domestic cricket leagues, most notably the Indian Premier League.
