Rediffusion Y&R bags Videocon's handsets, flat panel displays & telecom biz

Rediffusion Y&R has won three of Videocon’s future facing businesses – Videocon Telecom, Videocon Mobile Handset and Videocon flat panel display business. The size of the account is estimated at over Rs 150 crore.

McCann’s Tag was handling the mobile handset business before, while JWT was handling the other two businesses.

Commenting on the win, Amitava Sinha, Chief Operating Officer, Rediffusion Y&R said, “This year, we had consciously focused on rebuilding our Delhi office and I am happy to say that we have tripled our business base already. Our wins this year span an interesting range of advertisers, from the emerging first timers to creatively exciting categories such as fashion, travel, and technology. The icing, of course, is the huge Videocon engagement, a brand we have all grown up with.”

Chraneeta Mann, National Creative Director – Regional, Rediffusion Y&R added here, “We are absolutely delighted to be entrusted with this business. Handsets, Flat Panel Displays and Telecom businesses are all highly innovation-led categories. The pace is superfast and with every new launch, the category pushes new boundaries. The categories demand new age thinking, new ways of consumer engagement – be it on ground or digital. It’ll be exciting to keep pace with the business and we look forward to doing equally innovative, engaging work on the brand.”
