Prachar Communications adds D’décor, Oscar Garments businesses to its kitty

Prachar Communications has bagged the media duties of D’décor, manufacturer of home fabrics, including curtains and upholstery. MEC was the incumbent on the business. The agency has been also assigned the media and creative mandate for Oscar Garments, a Tirupur-based hosiery manufacturer. There was no multi-agency pitch involved in either of the businesses.

Confirming the two wins, Rajesh Jain, MD, Prachar Communications, said that both the businesses were bagged on the basis of presentations made on the briefs from the clients.

It may be recalled that in January 2010, D’décor had appointed MEC India for its media duties following a multi-agency pitch. The company exports fabrics to 65 countries worldwide. With the brand increasing focus on India, the fabrics will be made available across various multi-brand retail outlets in the country.

Also, recently in August 2010, actor Shahrukh Khan had teamed up with his wife Gauri Khan for the first time to endorse D’décor as its brand ambassadors. Together, the couple represented the idea of sharing the very same characteristics of leadership, innovation and passion of premium home furnishings brand. The television commercials are currently on air. However, following this, in October 2010, Prachar has been appointed to handle the company’s media mandate.

Meanwhile, Oscar Garments has appointed Dino Morea as its brand ambassador.
