MAA Communications adds 4 new businesses to its kitty

MAA Communications has recently bagged four new businesses – Coconut Development Board, Maini Group, Baker’s Foods and Indotel Hospitality Service Pvt Ltd.

The Coconut Development Board win comes on the back of a nationwide multi-agency pitch. Speaking on the win, Lakshman Varma, Vice President, MAA Communication, Cochin branch office, said, “This win is an attestation of MAA’s capabilities in offering customised solutions to deal with a brand’s marketing challenges. It is also the result of sheer hard work and the continuous practice of an approach that is both disruptive and result oriented.”

Another major acquisition this year has been Maini Group, a manufacturing and design conglomerate with domestic and international dominance in materials handling, warehousing and logistics solutions, aerospace and electric vehicles, and high-precision engineering components. The agency will handle the entire advertising and communication requirements of the corporate as well as the group companies, including Maini Materials Movement, Maini Plastics & Composites, Maini Precision Products, Maini Global Aerospace and Armes Maini.

Commenting on the choice of agency, SA Mohan, CEO, Maini Materials Movement, said, “We were seeking a local agency that could offer a turnkey solution to us, just like we do as a company. We believe in a reliable one-stop solution for our long term branding and marketing needs and MAA gave us just that.”

The first acquisition after the re-activation of MAA Communications’ Coimbatore branch office was Baker’s Spices & Ingredients Pvt Ltd. The business landed in the agency’s lap following a multi-agency pitch. A manufacturer of spices, milk shakes, puddings and breakfast cereals, Baker’s has over 95 products in its portfolio. The agency will help the brand reposition itself and achieve its global expansion goals with a fresh creative approach and strategy.

Mukesh Vij, Director - Productions, Baker’s, said, “We selected MAA Communications to help us achieve our expansion plans across the national and global markets. The agency has already helped shape created a fresh look for the brand, in line with our vision for the future. We now look forward to rolling out our promotional activities in the region.”

Bangalore-based Indotel Hospitality Service Pvt Ltd, which operates a number of innovative quick service restaurants (QSR) across India and the world, has recently joined hands with Dakshin Communications, a vertical of MAA Communications that focuses on start-up enterprises. Indotel has handed over the creative duties of three of its established and upcoming growing QSR chains to Dakshin Communications, which draws from the skills and experience of MAA but offers a great value model for new businesses. The QSRs that Dakshin will be working on include Curry Toast, Willy Vaniliy and Muthhu’s. The agency will be setting the global creative and branding guidelines for the QSR chain’s brands, including an exclusive food court that is coming up in the flagship Nilgiris property on Brigade Road, Bangalore.

Parag Dutta, Business Head of Indotel, stated, “We are on a definitive phase of expansion, with new outlets being launched across major Indian cities and various global hotspots. So, it was the opportune time to partner with a quick and agile local agency that could service our needs within our stringent timelines and budgets. We simply loved Dakshin’s creative approach and hands-on style of work.”

The new businesses are significant additions to MAA Communications’ growing portfolio across their regional network.
