JWT wins Titan perfumes, MCX & Tata Starbucks

JWT India is on a winning spree with businesses across categories and cities, coming its way.

Titan, watch brand from Tata Group, is entering the luxury lifestyle category with new product lines including fragrances, pens and shoes, and the company has partnered with JWT India for the perfumes lines of the business. Titan account is otherwise handled by Ogilvy India. Reportedly, Titan had recently launched a perfume called ‘Evolve-100%’ for test launch in Dubai. For the brand, the foray into perfumes is natural as the customer segment is the same as for watches and jewellery. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch process and will be handled by JWT’s Bangalore office.

Also coming JWT’s way is MCX (Multi Commodities Exchange of India) – won in the wake of a multi-agency pitch process again. Prior to this, the business was being handled by Lowe Lintas and Partners. Headquartered in Mumbai, MCX is an electronic commodity futures exchange. The demutualised Exchange has recognition from the Government of India to facilitate online trading, and clearing and settlement operations for commodity futures across the country. There were at least five top agencies competing for the business.

JWT India has also been awarded the Tata Global Beverages and Starbucks Coffee Company’s 50:50 joint venture that will bring the premium international coffee brand Starbucks to India. The JV is named Tata Starbucks. It will own and operate Starbucks cafés, branded Starbucks Coffee ‘A Tata Alliance’, across cities in India, beginning with Mumbai and Delhi. The company plans to launch these cafes in calendar year 2012 and the move to appoint JWT India as creative partner is seen as one of the steps in the direction of beginning the communication around the coffee retail chain. Tata Starbucks will operate cafés under the Quick Service Restaurant category.

While JWT officials were not available to confirm the details to exchange4media, industry sources have confirmed the development stating that there is more news coming from the JWT India offices.
