IPG Mediabrands bags media duties of Heinz India

IPG Mediabrands has been assigned the media duties of Heinz. The account size is estimated to be over Rs 100 crore, as confirmed by highly placed industry sources. As was exclusively reported by exchange4media in October 2013, Heinz India was scouting for a media partner and had initiated a multi -agency pitch.

Havas Media and Starcom MediaVest Group are the incumbent agencies on the account. Havas Media handled 10 per cent of the Heinz business.

Heinz India is the third big win for IPG Mediabrands in the last two months; the other big media mandates won by the agency include Reckitt Benckiser, which the agency formally announced in December last year, and Samsung, which is touted to be one of the biggest media account wins for last year with an estimated account size of around Rs 500 crore. However, this win has not yet been formally announced by the agency.

Heinz entered India in 1994 by taking over the Family Products Division of Glaxo, with brands such as Complan, Glucon-D, Nycil and Sampriti.
