Draftfcb Ulka has bagged the creative duties of home appliances major Whirlpool. The process was underway in Delhi and the win comes on back of a pitch between Contract Advertising and Draftfcb Ulka. Sources close to exchange4media have confirmed the development. However, the size of the business could not be ascertained at the time of filing the report.

It may be recalled that in 2008, Whirlpool had brought Contract Advertising on board and the agency was appointed to handle new categories and the then new products, including water purifiers and built-in appliances. Draftfcb Ulka also stayed on board and the two agencies have worked together for the brand since then.

Draftfcb Ulka has been the agency for Whirlpool for several years and has been involved in the development of the overall brand. The agency has worked on its washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners and microwaves businesses.

Lodestar UM handles the media duties of the brand, while Ignitee Digital Solutions was appointed as the digital partner to establish the brand’s identity online and across social media platforms.

Whirlpool’s parent company is headquartered at Benton Harbor, Michigan, USA and the brand has presence in over 170 countries and manufacturing operations in 13 countries, with 11 major brand names such as Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, Bauknecht, Laden and Ignis.

The group released the Little Hearts online-only campaign, #BreakSomeHearts, early this year and is on the path to make many more of its brands available on the digital platform
