Honda scouts for creative partner to launch its new car

Car manufacturer Honda Siel Cars India Ltd is on the verge of launching a new small car in the Indian market and has launched the hunt to zero in on a creative agency that will handle this new brand.

According to senior sources in the industry, it is an invitational pitch and agencies, including McCann Worldwide, Grey Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather, Contract, and Dentsu India are among the ones that have been asked to participate and have been given guidelines around positioning of the new brand in the market in their brief.

Speculations suggest that the new car will be named ‘Brio’ and is set to enter the markets early in 2011. In 2007, Honda had forayed into the small car segment in India with the launch of Honda Jazz, a hatchback. Currently Ogilvy & Mather’s Meridian Communications is the agency on board for Jazz, while the rest of the Honda brands are being handled by Dentsu India.
