Hemant Somani joins Mint as COO

Hemant Somani has joined as the COO of tabloid business newspaper Mint. Hemant takes over from Sandeep Bhushan who has moved to a new role in Firefly. In Mint, Hemant will be leading the complete operations of newspaper’s business and the heads of Mint Marketing, Circulation and Finance will work with him.

Before joining Mint, Hemant was heading the Marketing function at Akzo Nobel, the makers of Dulux Paints. However, there were no comments available when report was filed and details were sourced from an internal mail circulated on 06 April, 2011 in Hindustan Times.

Hemant has studied at IIT Mumbai and at XLRI, Jamshedpur and started his career with HUL. At HUL he worked in Sales and Marketing functions across diverse categories of Ice-creams, Beverages and Detergents. Post HUL, he founded his own start-up company with his friends in the space of employability skills at Bangalore and was associated till the initial rounds of funding.
