Garnier India media pitch closed; ZenithOptimedia, Lodestar Universal among frontrunners

It is learnt that all the rounds of presentation for the Garnier India media pitch are over and a decision on the agency is expected soon. Though it is not known how many agencies are part of the pitch process, according to industry sources, ZenithOptimedia and incumbent agency Lodestar Universal are among the strong contenders for Garnier’s media business.

Though no official confirmation was forthcoming at the time of filing the report, industry sources have confirmed that the media pitch has been called.

It may be recalled that Garnier had forayed into India in 1991 with its Ultra Doux range of shampoos. The brand is a mass market brand from L’Oreal, which has a range of global premium personal care brands like Maybelline, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, and Vichy, among others. L’Oreal had commenced its operations as a joint venture with MJ Group. Later in 1994, the company started its own operations.

Garnier’s strategy is to bring to the Indian consumers new, different and better products relevant to their needs at an affordable price. Based on the knowledge that healthy skin is beautiful skin, Garnier has created a range of skincare products. Very recently, the brand launched ‘Garnier Men’, a new range of products designed specifically for men.
