Apollo Tyres has appointed ZenithOptimedia as its media AOR. The development comes in the wake of a multi-agency pitch that was kicked off in May 2012. Industry sources peg the business in the vicinity of Rs 35-40 crore.
Apollo Tyres is a Gurgaon-headquartered company and India is one of its largest markets accounting for 67 per cent of Apollo Tyres’ global revenues, according to the company’s factsheet, dated July 2012.
Even though Apollo Tyres did not confirm the development to exchange4media till the time of filing the report and ZenithOptimedia officials could not be reached, sources close to the situation have confirmed the move. The incumbent on the business is Mindshare India.
The three key brands in the Apollo group include Apollo, Dunlop and Vredestein. Other brands that the group has are Kaizen for truck‐bus tyres, Maloya for passenger car, DuraTyres for retreaded tyres and DuraTread for retreading material. Apollo’s product portfolio offers the entire range of passenger car, SUV, MUV, light truck, truck‐bus, agriculture, industrial, specialty, bicycle and off‐the‐road tyres; retreading material and tyres.
