AMO bags creative duties of new Hindi news channel News Express

AMO (Analysing Marketing Opportunities) Communications, an ad agency set up in 2000 in a joint venture between Percept and Hakuhodo Inc, has bagged the creative mandate for News Express, a new Hindi news channel, which will go on air from July 28, 2011.

The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch held over four consecutive Fridays.

Confirming the development, Sehriyar Khan, Head - Sales and Marketing, News Express, said, “All the other agencies concentrated on print and television only, whereas AMO concentrated on a 360 degree marketing mix and had a great and innovative idea. Hence, we chose the agency.”

News Express, being launched by Sai Prasad Media, will be a free-to-air channel and will operate in High Definition (HD) format. The channel is targeted at the Hindi speaking markets (HSM) of India. Mukesh Kumar has been roped in as Editor and CEO of the channel.
