Aegis Group’s Carat Media has won the media duties of General Motors. Highly placed industry sources have confirmed the news to exchange4media. As per industry sources, the account size is estimated to be in the range of Rs 200 crore to Rs 250 crore, making it a significant win for the Aegis Group.
Madison Media is the incumbent agency on the account. The agency had won the media mandate in 2005.
Carat Media is handles media duties for General Motors in most parts of the world as a result of a global review, which was initiated in August 2013, which had excluded India, China and Brazil. General Motors’ global ad spends are estimated to be around $3 billion.
Industry sources also indicate that the media duties were won by Carat Media last month and that the agency has already started work on the account. Carat Media will be handling all the duties for General Motors, including digital and outdoor.
It may be noted that from January 1, 2014 onwards, Aegis Media and Dentsu Network combined to form the Dentsu Aegis Network. Together, they form the first truly global communications network for the digital age in 110 countries worldwide with over 22,000 dedicated specialists.
