The official statement further claimed that UTV was having a dream year in 2008 with all its releases performing well at the box office. Right from ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, ‘Race’ and ‘Kismet Konnection’ to small and medium budget films like ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ (overseas release), ‘Aamir’, ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’, ‘A Wednesday’ and ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ – critics and audiences have reacted positively to these releases.

This Diwali, the studio would launch the much awaited Madhur Bhandarkar film, ‘Fashion’, which would be followed up with ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye!’ from Dibakar Banerjee (director of ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’); ‘Dev D’, a modern day retelling of the classic ‘Devdas’, directed by Anurag Kashyap; and the laugh riot ‘Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge’.
