My fav TV character: Anoop Soni of Crime Patrol

Broadcasters today are keen to telecast different genres of shows; they are no longer limited to the age old ‘saas – bahu’ saga, but have moved on to programming genres such as crime, horror, comedy, etc.

Ashit Kukian, President and COO, Radio City said Anoop Soni brings the right amount of seriousness and concern towards issues being addressed in Crime Patrol.

Crime Patrol is an Indian crime television series aired on Sony Entertainment Television India and Sony Entertainment Television Asia that showcases crime against Indian citizens, along with capturing the Indian police’s fight against these crimes. The series is hosted by Anoop Soni.

exchange4media chats with Ashit Kukian to find out what he likes about Soni…

Who is your favourite character in the Hindi general entertainment space?
Anoop Soni, the anchor of Crime Patrol is someone I enjoy watching. He does a fantastic job of making people aware, responsible and careful about what is happening in the country.

What do you like about Soni?
He brings the right measure of seriousness and concern towards issues being addressed by the show. His approach ensures that people think about the same and at least some of them act upon the message.

Do you think he does justice to the show?
Soni surely justifies the role he is playing in the show. His presence provides continuity to the show instead of acting like a hindrance.

Do you think the popularity of a particular character extends itself to the show or does a show shape up the characters?
I would say it is mixed. Sometimes the character is so strong that it defines the show and sometimes the show itself defines the character.

How often do you tune in to Crime Patrol?
Since Crime Patrol comes late at night, I manage to catch up with the show eight out of 10 times. And in this era of repeat telecasts, it is hardly difficult to miss your show.
