Channel 7 launches three new infotainment programmes

Channel 7, the broadcast venture from the Jagran Group, has launched three new infotainment features. First of these is Lakshya, a daily half-an-hour career and employment show, which will be aired on weekdays in the 6:30pm slot. Raj-Ki-Niti, a daily half-an-hour show, which covers the stories behind the top political news, is the second new introduction. This show too, will be aired on weekdays in the 9:30pm slot.

The third introduction is a weekly half-an-hour show on travel destinations and holiday activities called Ye Safar Hai Suhana. This show is for the month of June and is targeted at holiday seekers. A daily seven-minute guide to various holiday destinations is first aired in ‘Good Morning 7’ from Monday to Saturday during 7:00am to 9.00am. Subsequently it is aired 4-5 times during the day. These daily capsules are collated to form a 30 minutes episode that is aired every Sunday at 8:30pm.

Channel 7 in line with this content strategy has also started a special series ‘IIFA Safar,’ covering the IIFA Awards to be held in Amsterdam on June 11, 2005.

“Today, news channels have started adding a lot of value to their news-based programmes so that they appeal to all section of its viewers. Channel 7, the latest news channel, has taken the lead when it comes to features and infotainment programming. The balanced mix of news bulletins and features from Channel 7 provides viewers with not just information but wholesome entertainment as is the trend today,” said Siddhartha Gupta, Director, Channel 7.
