Budget 2010: NDTV Profit combining resources of NDTV 24×7 for full coverage

Business news channel NDTV Profit’s special event team is back after a comprehensive coverage of Davos Summit and is now giving final touches to preparations of this year’s Budget coverage. For the first time, the resources of NDTV Profit and NDTV 24×7 are being combined to give an uninterrupted and in-depth analysis of the Railway as well as Union Budgets.

Elaborating on the channel’s Budget coverage plans, John O’Loan, CEO, NDTV Profit, said, “After a total of 30 hours of programming specially devoted to the Budget in the final few days prior to the Finance Minister addressing the nation, NDTV Profit will then be live for 17 hours from across the country and around the world, with preliminary expectations from the markets, commerce and industry of what the new Budget will bring. After the live coverage of the Finance Minister’s speech, Prannoy Roy will lead analysis and preliminary discussion of the implications of the Budget, while our experienced anchors and reporters, based with the CII in Delhi, exclusively in the board room of the BSE in Mumbai and in the top corporate offices across the country, will probe Corporate India’s immediate reaction and outlook.”

During the entire coverage, Prannoy Roy, Vikram Chandra, Manvi Dhillon, Prashant Nair, Ira Dugal, Anjana Menon and Siddharth Vinayak Patankar would be joined by the channel’s expert commentators Surjit Bhalla and Dorab R Sopariwala for the most ambitious Budget coverage by NDTV Profit.

To give the viewers live updates from the BSE, a studio is being set up in the board room of the BSE. O’Loan added, “The resources of NDTV Profit and NDTV 24x7 will be combined for the first time to provide unprecedented depth and analysis. Apart from our studio set-up based exclusively in the BSE board room, a set will also offer panoramic views from the 25th floor of our new down town live news center in Mumbai. We will also be offering more satellite live links to important opinion formers than ever before.”

He further said, “Rather than being anchored to big, set piece panels of pondering prognosticators, NDTV Profit will be live, and alive across the country.”

Key panelists and senior members of the CII in Mumbai and Delhi, the Finance Minister, senior ministers and business leaders and CEOs of India’s largest firms and corporations will be the part of the on going debates and analysis.
