BARC Week 37: KBC remains most watched show for two weeks in a row; helps SET move up to second position in Urban Market



Zee Anmol continued to lead collectively in the Hindi GEC category with 672 million impressions, according to BARC data for week 37 (September 9-15). It was followed by Zee TV with 632 million impressions and Star Bharat with 607 million impressions. Star Bharat was in the top 5 channels in both urban and rural market.



Star Plus retained the top spot in the urban market with 409 million impressions while Zee Anmol continued to rule the rural market with 521 million impressions.



Zee TV’s popular properties, ‘KumkumBhagya’ and ‘KundaliBhagya’ made it to the Top 5 programs overall with 12.3 million and 10.9 million impressions, respectively.



Urban Market



Star Plus emerged at the top of this genre after it returned to the top spot last week following a brief hiatus with 409 million impressions, compared to 394 million impressions it had in Week 36.



Sony Entertainment Television rose to the second spot with 396 million impressions as against previous week’s 364 million impressions. Its iconic property 'KaunBanegaCrorepati’ reigned over the Top 5 programs list in the urban market with 7.6 million impressions.



Zee TV retained its third spot with 383 million impressions as against the 370 million impressions it garnered the previous week. Its ‘KumkumBhagya’ rose to the second spot from the third spot last week in the top 5 programs list in this market garnering 7.1 million impressions while ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ took the fourth spot with 6.3 million impressions.



Colors slipped to the fourth spot from second spot last week 374 million impressions, compared to 384 million impressions it had in Week 36. ‘Fear Factor KhatronKeKhiladi’ slipped to third spot in the Top 5 Programs (Urban) list fetching 6.6 million impressions.



Sony SAB took the fifth spot with 278 million impressions.





Rural Market



Zee Anmol continued to lead rural market with 521 million impressions with its popular shows ‘Jamai Raja’ rising to the first position in the Top 5 Programs (Rural) with 5.9 million impressions.



Sony Pal rose to the second spot with 369 million impressions. The show ‘Baalveer’ aired on Sony Pal rose to the second spot with 5.7 million impressions.



The new channel Star Bharat dropped to third spot with 330 million impressions. None of its shows made it to the Top 5 Programs list.



Rishtey remained at the fourth spot with 296 million impressions. No show from Rishtey also made it to the Top 5 Programs list.



Zee TV maintained its fifth spot with 249 million impressions.
