Radio City plans to liven up the Independence month with fun and excitement

Radio City started off the month of August with an explosive coverage on the Tri-Nation Cricket Tournament being played in Sri Lanka. And now, the FM station has grand plans to make the month more fun and exciting.

August will see a series of exciting programmes in sync with the happening events – like the ‘Jai-Hind Independence Day Special’, ‘Meet and greet Suneil Shetty in Goa’, where three winners from Mumbai will be flown to Goa to meet the beefy Bollywood actor and spend a day with him on the sets of his new film.

Then the capsule on ‘Bek(c)ar se SuperCar’, which will feature two lucky listeners everyday across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, who will get a chance to get a complete car check-up.

There is also a road show in association with JAM, which will cover nearly 30 colleges in Mumbai and Delhi, as well as a ‘Tune-in Promo’, where listeners can get a chance to win home appliances worth Rs 40,000 everyday.

Contests by far seem to be driving the show for the channel. Apurva Purohit, CEO Radio City, said, “While some of the shows like ‘Meet and greet Suneil Shetty in Goa’, ‘Bek(c) car se SuperCar’ and Tune-in promo are contest-driven, other programmes featuring the Tri-Nation Cricket has focused on creating excitement for listeners by giving them facts about cricket never heard before on any radio station, apart from allowing listeners to predict the match, etc. Also, special programmes on the Independence Day will highlight the significance of our freedom struggle and pay tributes to the great freedom fighters. So, the plans are to dish out a good heady mix for our listeners.”

Purohit further said, “As per the latest NRS survey, Radio City listenership has grown by 122 per cent in New Delhi and 62 per cent in Mumbai. So we are very excited about the channel.”
