Prasar Bharti to recruit full-time DG AIR

Prasar Bharti Corporation board has decided to divest corporation CEO K S Sarma of the additional charge of DG All India Radio (AIR) and instead recruit a full time Director General for the radio.

Sarma told exchange4media that Prasar Bharti will shortly put in an advertisement to recruit DG AIR from the Indian Information Service Cadre (IIS).

This is the second time that Prasar Bharti would be attempting to recruit DG AIR. Few months back it had advertised for the recruitment of both DG Doordarshan and DG AIR from the open market. While Prasar Bharti was able to recruit S Y Quraishi for the post of DG Doordarshan, it however could not get a suitable candidate for the post of DG AIR.

Sarma says that if all goes well the new full time DG AIR should be in place by November.
