Dainik Bhaskar Group Chairman Ramesh Agarwal passes away

Agarwal, Chairman of Dainik Bhaskar Group, passed away earlier today. He was 73 and passed away following a cardiac arrest. He breathed his last in Apollo Hospital, Ahmedabad. Agarwal is survived by three sons.

Agarwal led the Dainik Bhaskar board for more than four decades. He was ranked 95 in Forbes list of richest Indians in 2012 and has been awarded the Rajeev Gandhi Life time Achievement Award in Journalism. He was also Chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry - Madhya Pradesh.

He turned his inheritance of a single Hindi language newspaper into a formidable media powerhouse.

The Dainik Bhaskar Group is India’s largest newspaper group. With 7 newspapers and 62 editions, the group has total readership of nearly 4.4 crore across 14 states. 94.3 MY FM, the radio brand of the group, is one of the largest radio network in India, with presence in 28 cities across 7 states. The digital arm of group, DB Digital has 2.6 billion collective page-views with 80.4 million unique visitors across its portals in four languages, Hindi, Gujarati, English and Marathi.
