Shailesh Kapoor, Head - Marketing, Zoom, has decided to move back to the domain he knows best. He is all set to put in his papers at Zoom next week to soon take over the marketing responsibilities of Sahara One's movie channel, Sahara One Filmi, which is scheduled to be launched in August. Prior to joining Zoom, Kapoor has worked with channels like Zee Cinema and according to him, it is the experience at that time, which led to him to take up the opportunity at Sahara One Filmi. Ashutosh, Business Head of the channel is thrilled with this development. "Shailesh has been a part of Zee at the time when the movie channel from the group started looking better. And he has done a great job at Zoom as well. I am looking forward working with him, " he said. Kapoor would be reporting into Ashutosh. Given that Sahara One Filmi has taken the route of 'top down', where in the head is taken on board before the team is in place, his new task would include creating the team. Ashutosh said, "He has to build the team here but he has done it once, with his experience at Zoom." Kapoor is one of the few people who have been a part of the Zoom team right from its inception. "I am very close to the brand with the experience that I have had from there. But movie is the area that I am really involved. There are quite a few things that I want to do in this domain and I am looking forward to doing it once I join Filmi," said Kapoor The movie channel is slated for an August launch and Kapoor would join them by July. With Kapoor's appointment, another one of the vacant slots at Sahara One Filmi is covered. The channel still has to get a programming head and a COO. |
