Ogilvy PR bags Gold at PR Week Asia Pacific PR Awards 2006

Ogilvy Public Relations India has won a Gold at the PR Week Asia Pacific Awards 2006 for their CSR campaign for Amara Raja Batteries Ltd. Titled ‘Plural Power for Rural India’, the campaign bagged the Gold in the Corporate Communications category. This CSR programme was undertaken by Amara Raja Batteries along with an NGO Drishtee Foundation.

Reacting to the win, Meenakshi Bhalla, President, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, India, said, “Once again the power of great storytelling that drives a strong business outcome distinguished Ogilvy PR. Empowering the unconnected in rural India has established an enviable saliency and loyalty for the brand.”

The campaign, conceived by Ogilvy PR, plans to empower the rural population in the country by providing quicker and more efficient access to vital information and promoting social and economic changes in villages through the effective use of information technology.

Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and National Creative Director, Ogilvy India, said, “This is creative work was born of big ideas from Ogilvy PR India. The insights-driven work of Ogilvy PR shone through, delivering a big impact on our clients’ businesses.”

Ogilvy PR India, as part of the regional network, also won a Gold for its UPS ‘Delivers More’ in the category ‘Product & Promotions - Marketing Communications’.
