Billboard of the week: Sunsilk thick hair campaign

On the move, in the middle of heavy traffic, one is always drawn to the large scale outdoor advertising push that brands strategically place. Street furniture is an outdoor segment that is ever evolving and is used by brands to innovate with simplicity and cost effectiveness.

In a conversation with exchange4media, Priti Nair, Founder-Director, Curry Nation speaks about Sunsilk’s advertisements on bus shelters in Mumbai that caught her eye. She shares why she liked this OOH campaign...

I spotted it at...
Tuner road, Bandra. The bus shelter was near Axis Bank.

It stayed with me because...
I remember there were multiple girls with different hairstyles and it was supported by a quirky tagline, ‘Jab Bal Ho Thick, Any Style Karo Pick’. It was done with a nightclub effect. I quite liked the fact that the brand managed to make the bus shelter look stylish despite so many elements present in the advertisement.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
