IRS 2010 Q4 does not have much cheer for dailies in Chhattisgarh. While, the top two dailies in the state have seen positive growth in readership, the rest three among the top five have declined. Interestingly, English dailies have managed to chart out a growth story in the latest quarter.

Dainik Bhaskar with an average issue readership (AIR) of 10.16 lakh has seen a growth of 4.63 per cent as compared to Q3. Haribhoomi with 9.11 lakh readers in the state has witnessed a growth of 2.71 per cent in Q4.

Meanwhile, Nava Bharat, Nai Dunia and Dainik Jagran have seen decline in readership in the state in Q4, as against the growth witnessed in Q3.

On the other hand, English dailies, which were showing decline in Q3, have been able to garner positive growth in Q4. The Times of India, adding a thousand more readers in the state, has registered an AIR of 22,000. Business daily Economic Times with an AIR of 13,000, managed to get a positive growth of 8.33 per cent. The Hindu has added 2,000 readers in the state and clocked an AIR of 6,000 in Q4.
