The
sea, sun, sand and surf make a heady combination and when
one has a generous sprinkling of the best of India’s advertising
gathered at one place, it is celebration time with the GoaFest
getting underway on April 4. This very celebratory aspect
was brought to the fore when Madhukar Kamath, President, AAAI,
said, “We are celebrating the third year of GoaFest. This
year, we are seeing the participation of over 3,000 delegates.
It takes huge logistics and hard work to get so many people
together.”
Throwing open GoaFest 2008, Goa Chief Minister
Digambar Kamat, said, “I am very happy to be present here
for the inaugral session. Goa has become a permanent place
for film festivals and I hope it will become a permanent venue
for GoaFest as well, and the Government will support this
venture in years to come. Goa is today considered the best
international tourist destination in the world.”
Speaking at the event, Bhaskar Das, President,
Ad Club Bombay, said, “I have been coming to GoaFest every
year as a delegate. This is my first year at the Ad Club.
We are realising the potential that this industry has and
the enthusiasm amongst the industry leaders can be seen at
the GoaFest.”
A very enthusiastic JagDip Bakshi, who has
been steering the GoaFest committee, said, “This GoaFest is
already bigger than the Ad Club and I am sure it will be bigger
than Cannes in the next two years! I am sure if we get the
proper infrastructure in place, we can make Goa the permanent
destination for GoaFest.”
