Re-Run of popular Pay TV content on FTA channels create road to growth

With the Hindi GEC remaining above the 1200 GRP mark in week 48, the genre did not witness a major change in the numbers of all players, according to Analysis conducted by S-Group, an Analytical arm of TAM Media Research.

What catches the eye in the genre is performance of two players - Z Anmol & Sony SAB in recent weeks particularly post Week 43.

The growth of Z Anmol was driven by some star performers from yester years - Jodha Akbar, Doli Armano Ki & Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

Whereas the growth for Sony PAL was driven due to the channel reintroducing some classic shows of Sony Entertainment & Sony SAB on Sony PAL from Week 45. Shows such as - Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma, C.I.D & Gutur Goon-3 coupled with growth in performance of Baalveer.

Meanwhile other players like Colors Viacom 18 witnessed growth of NAAGIN & other prime time properties, Sony SAB because of increased duration of TAARAK MEHTA & ZEE TV witnessed growth because of increase in performance of its key driver show KUMKUM BHAGYA.
