Levi Strauss, Idiom Design & Consulting among winners of VM&RD Retail Design Awards

The third edition of POP Asia, an annual expo and convention forum for the marketing-at-retail industry, constituted a new module this time – the VM&RD Retail Design Awards. The award ceremony was held in the Capital on February 2, 2007.

The Awards ceremony felicitated design firms and retail brands in India that successfully use design to create aesthetic and effective retail spaces.

The Awards were split into 23 categories encompassing Store Planning, Visual Merchandising, Grocery & General Merchandise, Entertainment, Health and Beauty, Fashion Apparels, Window Presentations, etc.

Among the winners were Madura Garments, which bagged the ‘Best Store’ Award for Van Heusen; Sanjay Puri Architects bagged the ‘Best Lighting’ Award for their project, Cinemax, which also bagged an Award in the ‘Entertainment’ category.

Levi Strauss India bagged two awards for Levi’s Square – the ‘Best Shopfitting’ Award and the ‘Best Visual Merchandising’ Award. The ‘Department Stores’ award was bagged by Idiom Design & Consulting for Pantaloons.

A panel comprising Indian and international professionals from the design, retail and brand marketing industry judged the entries. Martin Pegler, Visual Merchandising Guru from USA; Joseph Weishar, Founder, New Vision Studio, USA; Linda Cahan of Cahan & Company, USA; Carol Bagaric, Visual Merchandising Consultant, Australia; Andy Turnbull, UK, and Idiom’s Jacob Mathew from India were among the prominent personalities on the judges panel.
