Janak Sarda elected to lead IAA YP initiative in APAC

International Advertising Association (IAA) has announced the appointment of Janak Sarda (Managing Director, Deshdoot Media Group) to lead the IAA Young Professionals (YP) initiative. He will be directly responsible for the Asia Pacific region.

Commenting on the development, Srinivasan K Swamy, Sr. Vice President, IAA Global, and Chairman and Managing Director, R K SWAMY BBDO, said, “Janak is someone I have worked with closely and I am happy that he is being given this important responsibility. The young professionals in the Region have a lot to gain from associating with the IAA and I am sure Janak will spread this message in an effective way.”

Neeraj Roy, President, India Chapter, says, “This is a very important area of activity for IAA. I am very glad that a person who has represented the India Chapter with distinction will now be playing a larger role in the Region.”

On his new responsibility, Janak Sarda said, “In India, we have worked on some great initiatives for the Young Professionals in the marketing, advertising and media space. I am happy to now amplify these around the Region and also take what is good from each Chapter in the APAC region and replicate it elsewhere. This cross-pollination of ideas is what will lead to mutual benefit. The unique thing about IAA YP is a platform where one gets to interact with industry leaders, right at the start of one's journey. Board Room conversations, Webinars and CEO tours to the USA and now to Israel help in gathering vast experience and exposure.”

He further added, “I am looking forward to working closely with Mr. Kaushik Roy, IAA Area Director and all the other chapters in the Asia Pacific Region in advancing the professionalism of YPs in marketing, media and communications.”

IAA YP membership is for those under 35 years of age, exhibiting good character and reputation, and active in the field of Advertising, Brand Management, Marketing, Mass Communication or Media. Internationally, the association has over 1,000 members from 15 countries.
