After a burst of promotions and recruitment of new creative talent, Leo Burnett has now brought on board Kapil Sawant. He joins as an ECD in Mumbai and will work closely with KV Sridhar, CCO, Leo Burnett India Subcontinent and Nitesh Tiwari, CCO, Leo Burnett India. Sawant’s chief responsibility will be managing the McDonald’s account and the large creative teams that work on it in Mumbai and Delhi.
Sawant moves from Contract Mumbai, where he was Senior Creative Director/ Senior Vice President.

In the course of his 15-year career in advertising, Sawant has worked on brands such as UB Group, BPL, HDFC Bank, Perfetti, Pidilite, DNA, Shoppers Stop, Cadbury Celebrations, Cadbury Eclairs, Asian Paints, Morphy Richards and Edelweiss Financial Services.
After spending his cub years in small ad agencies and design firms, Sawant moved on to Euro RSCG, O&M and then to Contract Advertising, where he joined as Creative Director and moved up to become Senior Creative Director and Senior Vice President.
Sawant has also been a familiar face at national and international creative awards shows. The Cadbury Celebrations’ Diwali campaign won awards in the Integrated Campaign category at the ABBYs, Effies, Mirchi Kaan and so on. Other award-winning pieces of work include Shoppers Stop’s ‘Start something new’ brand campaign (for 2008 and 2010), Morphy Richards’ Juicer film (Gold at Spikes), and ‘Ask me number’ films which were awarded at ABBYs 2011, among others.
