FoodFood has started the journey for its new show, ‘Roti Raasta Aur India’. Chef Saransh Goila, winner of the cooking reality show, ‘FoodFood Mahachallenge’, is the anchor of the show and has embarked on his yatra to discover the local food and flavours of the country.
Chef Sanjeev Kapoor handed over a special ‘handi’ to Chef Saransh at a flag off event held at Surva Vie, in New Delhi on August 6, 2012. Local spices and typical ingredients that Goila finds at each place will be collected in that handi. At the end of the journey, he will prepare a meal – ‘Roti India Ki’ from the ingredients collected in that handi.
‘Roti Raasta Aur India’ is a journey that will discover ‘roti’ from various parts of India. The show will track an informative journey down India, taking a look at its culinary heritage and tracing its history. It will showcase traditional Indian cuisine, made with distinct cooking methodologies and authentic utensils, originating from every region in India. The show will also have a daily Video Diary update by Goila, where he will share his experiences of the day and discuss the next day.
Talking about the new show, Sanjeev Kapoor, Promoter of FoodFood, said, “This show is a unique travelogue that will touch millions of lives in India and explore their relationship with food. It aims to bring closer every part of the country with the other – through the medium we all love and understand – food.”
The show is due to go on-air by August-end. Some of the significant regions that will be covered are Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, amongst others.
