Day 6. Rounding off
Last night was great fun. We finally found our way to an Indian restaurant – The Maharajah. After six days of French food – something I don’t much care for – I must admit the Indian food was like God send. Finally, my taste buds felt alive. Relishing the all familiar dal, chawal and yes, the mutton curry with aloo. My all-time favourite fare.
Next day we all huddled at the Majestic, where Prasoon (Joshi, Executive Chairman, McCann Worldgroup) was staying. Trying to crack some films for a client. And a gentle reminder that we all have to earn our daily bread even if we were living it up at the French Riveria. But then it was an important and interesting project, so no one really minded.
We were also enthralled by Prasoon’s stories, his perspective on life, leadership and advertising. He’s like a reservoir of information and insights and it’s always an absolute privilege and pleasure being in the audience. And while we didn’t pick up too many metals, we did make a promise there that the haul next year will be substantial!
So then, today is the Film awards and then the closing gala. Am so looking forward to it. And more importantly, I get to go back home tomorrow. Finally! So what if it’s an early morning flight. Am not complaining!
